mutedpoint: (Gotta be close to midnight (Somewhere))
There's been something that's just been nagging at me since forever. That scene between Cobb and Eames in Mombasa, the dialogue doesn't seem to just be good-natured ribbing. Maybe I'm overthinking the ten minutes of interaction there, but you normally wouldn't insult people you're trying to get help from, so I'm assuming they're key phrases to establish the background situation, such as motive, whether there's coercion involved, how they were directed there, etc, etc. Thoughts? (Drop it/work out a system?) Given how most agree that there's probably some sort of network already in place for all the dreamers... this isn't too far off I don't think. Obviously, different people have a different system, so depending on who you're dealing with, what is said or done would have to be adjusted. Maybe it's just a really bad way to start a conversation or try and fit in?

That's one. Two is that ever since I saw Brick, I've been meaning to revamp Mute over to fit that movie into his background. As such, headcanon is undergoing an overhaul, which opens up the floor to a no holds barred questioning free for all. (Not a meme, guys. Seriously.) Questions and answers can be OOC/IC, though I predict that IC responses will mostly consist of the polite version of the one-fingered salute, especially among the "spook" half of the population. I mean, there's no point denying that half the people up here deal in secrets and information as their stock in trade.

The questioning can apply to any one of my characters. Since I'm not making a post on each and every journal I've ever made.
